The Town of Rosemère is currently developing a plan to fight and adapt to climate change (PLACC). The purpose of these efforts is to identify the impacts that climate change is having on the local environment, residents and the Town’s administration.
This analysis will help determine where action is needed to build community resilience. The PLACC will also indicate sources of greenhouse gas emissions and measures aimed at reducing them.
Negative impacts of climate change include extreme heat and the accompanying physical discomfort, more intense seasonal allergies, tree branch breakage due to strong winds, flooding and water damage during heavy rainfall, and slippery roads resulting from freezing rain.
The Town of Rosemère would like to engage with residents to better understand their concerns and document their ideas as we work to fight and adapt to climate change. The public will play an integral role in the solutions to be implemented in this regard.
The deadline for participating is midnight on June 1. Be sure to spread the word!
